Well done to our Girls' and Boys' teams, who both started with a 100% record over their first two fixtures in this year's competition. Both teams had good wins over Ransboro NS and Carraroe NS last week. They now need only one more win to make certain of qualification to the semi-finals. Next up is Ballymote NS on this coming Thursday in Kent Park at 12:00. We wish all concerned well and thank our coaches Ms Caffrey, Ms Munnelly, Ms Burke, Ms Caffrey and a special thank you to Ms Clarke, who leaves us this week.
3rd and 4th classes had a very enjoyable day in St. Mary's GAA grounds playing quick games of Gaelic Football and Hurling. It was very exciting and great to see all the children getting a go and a taste of these brilliant Irish sports! Sligo Borough Council held their last meeting yesterday, 1st May. Entertainment was laid on by Feis Shligigh and Feis Cheoil after the meeting. Some recent Feis Shligigh medal winners from Scoil Ursula were among those entertaining. Pawel, Katie and Elina recited their dánta as Gaeilge. They did the school proud! Well done!
