Scoil Ursula bade a fond farewell this month to one of our longest serving teachers, Mrs Gabrielle (Gaye) Smyth. Mrs Smyth, taught the pupils of Scoil Ursula with dedication and distinction over 22 years. She worked her last day on January the 6th, during which she was honoured after the Mass of the Epiphany by the Parents Association represented by Gladys Rooney. The Board of Management, represented by Canon Tom Hever, paid tribute to Mrs Smyth at a staff Mass in the school last Thursday and a retirement function was held in her honour in the Sligo Park Hotel last Friday night at which current and former colleagues came to bid her farewell. We wish Mrs Smyth many long years of health and happiness in her retirement and we thank her for the many years of dedicated serve to our school! Go n-éirí an bóthar leat, Gaye!! |
