There are four seasons in a year. They are spring, summer, autumn, and winter. The three months in Autumn are August, September, and October. The sky gets darker in the evenings. Leaves fall off deciduous trees. They turn red, brown, orange, and yellow. Some birds migrate. Blackberries grow in bushes. The farmer harvests. Seeds fall from the trees. Some animals collect food for hibernation.

Today is Thursday the 14th of September. We went on a nature walk in the school grounds. We went in the morning because it was sunny, just in case it rains again! First we lined up with our coats on. Our groups were called Woodlice, Badgers, Hedgehogs and Squirrels. In the beginning we went to the garden. We looked at the leaves and plants to find insects. Just then teacher lifted rocks and pots for us to look under. That is where the minibeasts were hiding. We saw eggs, worms, snails, slugs, ants, centipedes, fruit flies and woodlice. Suddenly we looked up to the sky and saw birds. Meanwhile Antoni spotted a squirrel’s tail in the distance. A few minutes later we went to the opposite side of the school and saw daddy long legs, cobwebs, wasps, and spiders along the ivy on the wall. In the end we came in and wiped our feet. We were so happy about our nature walk that we wrote all about it. We have been using an interactive clock in class to help us calculate changes in time. Have a go and play at home.

The scientist was a parent from our class. Not only did he do experiments, he also did eggs-periments"! It was very "egg-citing". We learned about many scientific things. We saw sound waves, energy working, chemicals reacting to make rockets and many more exciting things. We talked about vacuums, pressure, and carbon dioxide. We had a fantastic and educational day.
We need to practice the second and third verse of away in a manger. Please sing along at home. Here are our carols for our school performance. Practice at home.
Here is our Irish song to the tune of Jingle Bells to practice for our Christmas Carols. We picked out copies with neat writing and copies of the most improved writing as examples.
