"The Incredible Years parent training intervention is a series of programmes focused on strengthening parenting competencies (monitoring, positive discipline, confidence) and fostering parents’ involvement in children’s school experiences in order to promote children’s academic, social and emotional competencies and reduce conduct problems."
We've just been notified of another brilliant installment of the Incredible Years Parent Programme being held in Sligo Education Centre. Please do spread the word and if you are interested please contact the Centre as soon as possible as the course starts this coming Monday 10th March. As part of our services we continue to offer workshops/information sessions on safe and responsible use of the internet, cyberbullying and online education to all young people and their parents. Each workshop is designed to suit individual group needs and age. Workshops are aimed at educating young people to become responsible internet users and raising their awareness of the consequences now and in the future of their online actions and comments. The workshops are interactive and discussion based using wordsearches, quizzes and games. Scoil Ursula Parents Association thanks you for your overwhelming generosity in our Christmas Food & Toy Appeal in aid of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. It was a huge success and we are also very grateful to the many volunteer helpers who turned out on Monday morning to receive the huge amount of donated goods. Well done everybody!!! As part of our School Improvement Plan to raise literacy standards in our school, we are asking parents to donate new or used books for our Classroom Libraries. The Parents' Association have generously donated €1,000 to provide new books for our libraries and some parents have already made donations of books to the school. If you have books at home that your children have outgrown and they are taking up room on your bookshelves please feel free to drop them in to us. Please be aware of the following criteria:
