The Sulky Vulture
Once upon a time there was a big bird. He was a vulture and he was called Stampy. He had a problem. He was not able to fly very well. When it was time to learn how to fly he would sit on a branch and sulk. He did not want to try to learn to fly properly. He wanted to play instead.
One day Stampy was very grumpy because he crashed into a tree. He crashed because he wasn’t looking where he was going. This was because there was a strong wind which blew him around when he was trying to fly. But really he crashed because he found flying difficult.
This particular day he was badly hurt on his wing. This meant that he could not fly. He also hurt his head. This made him dizzy and he fell asleep. When he was asleep he dreamt about walking sadly with his broken wing.
When he woke up he realised that he was stuck in the middle of no-where. It was too far to fly home. He was not impressed. He went into a sulk.
A tiger came along and found him in a sulk on the ground. The tiger asked him if he needed help to get home. Stampy said yes in a cranky voice. He climbed on the back of the tiger and the tiger brought him home to his Mammy.
The Mammy got such a fright when she saw the vulture of the back of a tiger that she called for help. All of a sudden Daddy vulture swooped in to the rescue and the poor tiger ran off like the clappers.
Stampy started crying because the tiger was his new friend. He dreamt about the tiger every night for a week. In the end he realised that the kindness of the tiger saved him. From then on when he felt a sulk coming on he remembered the kind tiger and a smile replace the sulk.
