Golf at Scoil Ursula N.S. Scoil Ursula is committed to the Youth Sport West Project. The Project aims to provide quality extra curricular coaching to children in local primary schools. We are very grateful for their support. Scoil Ursula pupils participated in an after school Golf programme during the months of September, October and November this year. The pupils were ably coached by PGA teaching professional Keith O’Neill. The pupils were introduced to the sport of Golf using SNAG (Starting New At Golf) equipment. This innovative, first touch golf coaching system proved highly successful in teaching Golf in a school setting. The pupils developed skills in pitching, chipping, putting and also full shots. The after school Golf was a fun learning experience for all and was thoroughly enjoyed by every child.The programme concluded with a trip to Sligo Golf Academy where the children engaged in activities at the all weather pitching & putting area and 340 metre driving range. Some budding Rory McIlroys and Rebecca Codds were discovered from Scoil Ursula this year! Seosaimhín Crowley Supervising Teacher          |
