![]() Today we are celebrating Lilac Day. Lilac day happens every year in spring. We celebrate this day because one of the students in Scoil Ursula named Bláthnaid Foley got a form of bone cancer called Ewings Sarcoma a while ago. She died in 2006 and Lilac day is in memory of her wondeful life. On Lilac day we ask the pupil's of Scoil Ursula to wear Lilac or some purple if they can. They bring in two euro to the Bláthnaid Foley trust formed in memory of Bláthnaid and made for children like Bláthnaid to help them when they need it and to help find a cure for the disease. I hope we raise a lot of money towards this. Also tomorrow (24th of March) the Bláthnaid Foley trust ball will be held to remember her birthday(which is the day after) and to raise money on awareness of bone cancer. Written by: Ailbhe Foley.
