Music

Music plays a vibrant and valued role in the life of our school. We are proud to nurture a love of music in all our pupils and to provide a wide range of opportunities for them to perform, create and enjoy music together.

Our school choir is a special part of our community, performing at important events such as First Holy Communion and Confirmation, adding joy and celebration to these memorable occasions. Each year, pupils also take part in our much-anticipated Christmas plays and shows, where music, singing and performance shine.

We celebrate Irish culture through music during Seachtain na Gaeilge, when pupils enjoy singing Irish songs and exploring traditional Irish music. Many of our class teachers introduce children to the tin whistle, helping them develop their musical skills from an early age.

We are very fortunate to be involved in Music Generation, a wonderful initiative that brings skilled tutors into our school. Through this programme, pupils have the opportunity to learn new instruments such as the violin, keyboard and percussion, enriching their musical experience.

In addition, our annual drumming workshops are always a highlight, giving pupils the chance to explore rhythm and teamwork in a fun and engaging way.

Music is celebrated and encouraged throughout our school, helping to build confidence, creativity and a lifelong appreciation for the arts.
