Creative Schools
Scoil Ursula is a vibrant, creative school where the arts are deeply valued and enthusiastically embraced by both pupils and staff. There is a strong culture of creativity throughout the school, with high levels of interest and engagement in a wide range of artistic activities.
The school proudly participated in the Creative Schools initiative from 2020–2022, a transformative experience that helped to embed creativity at the heart of teaching and learning. Building on this success, Scoil Ursula continues to actively engage with national arts initiatives, including regular participation in the BLAST Arts in Education programme and involvement in a Creative Cluster from 2023–2025. We are very excited to again be in a Creative Cluster with two local schools for 2026-2028.
These opportunities have enabled rich and meaningful teacher–artist partnerships across multiple classes, bringing fresh perspectives and inspiring creative exploration throughout the school. Pupils benefit from hands-on, high-quality artistic experiences that nurture imagination, confidence, and self-expression.
Creative arts are a dynamic and visible part of school life. Drumming workshops are a particular highlight, generating great excitement and participation among pupils, while the school’s active choir provides a strong platform for musical expression and performance.
Scoil Ursula is committed to fostering a lifelong appreciation of the arts, ensuring that creativity continues to flourish within the school community.
