ATHLETICS FEST

We had another successful Supervalu Athletics Fest on Friday, when 36 athletes from Scoil Ursula participated in this very enjoyable annual event in Sligo IT. Six out of our nine teams qualified for finals on the day. Out of those finalists we had a second, a third and a fourth place finish and these out of competitions of thirty-two participants or more. Our Senior Girls came 2nd in their 100m sprint while our Senior Boys came in third in their 100m race. Well done to all our athletes on a brilliant display!!

World Champion meets Scoil Ursula Athletes

20 athletes from Scoil Ursula travelled to Sligo IT to take part in the Fit2Walk 1K Race-Walking Challenge where they met World 50Km Champion Rob Heffernan from Cork. Well done to everyone involved!!!

Athletics Fest

We had or most successful Athletics Fest ever on Friday, when 36 athletes from Scoil Ursula participated in this very enjoyable annual event in Sligo IT. Seven out of our nine teams qualified for finals on the day. Out of those finalists we had a first, a second, a third, two fourths and two fifth placings and all out of competitions of thirty-two participants or more. Our Junior Boys took the honours in the 100m Relay, with the Junior Girls achieving 2nd place in their 100m sprint while our Senior Boys came in third in their 100m race. Well done to all our athletes on a brilliant display!!

SCIENCE WEEK

Science Week, 2012 takes place next week from November 11th to 18th.

The aim of Science Week is to promote the relevance of science, technology, engineering and maths in our everyday lives and to demonstrate their importance to the future development of Irish society and to the economy.

Once again Sligo IT have a wide range of activities and workshops to suit all ages. Go along on during the week and especially this Sunday to check out all the action.

Tag Rugby

31/10/2012

Two Tag Rugby teams from 6th Class took part in this year's Tag Rugby Blitz at the IT today. It was a very enjoyable day and our two teams, St Ursula's & St. Angela's, acquitted themselves well against teams from Ballymote, the Gaelscoil, Carbury and Calry.
