Congratulations to the Girls' and Boys' Football teams who were both victorious over Ballisodare today. The win qualifies the girls for the semi-final, while the boys need one more win to make it to the same stage after slipping up in their first match against Carraroe. The last group match away against Ballymote takes place on Wednesday at 11:30am. A big thank you to our coaches, Ms Caffrey & Ms Munnelly for all their hard work. We are also grateful to Castlelough Corporation for sponsoring a set of jerseys for our boys' team. The picture shows Declan Hughes of Castlelough presenting to the Boys Team Captain, Seán Casey.

Some pupils from 6th Class took part in a competition to design a crest for the Fr. Flanagan League. Fr. Flanagan was the Irish born Priest, educated in Summerhill College, who went on to found Boystown in the USA, where he looked after underprivileged boys. You can find out all about him at http://www.fatherflanagan.org/index.php Below are some of our entries: Congratulations to David Cox from 2nd Class who won a prize in the Coolera Pantomime Art Competition. He will be presented today in Quayside Shopping Centre at 5pm. Two Tag Rugby teams from 6th Class took part in this year's Tag Rugby Blitz at the IT today. It was a very enjoyable day and our two teams, St Ursula's & St. Angela's, acquitted themselves well against teams from Ballymote, the Gaelscoil, Carbury and Calry.
Congratulations to all our runners who took part in the Connacht Primary Schools Cross-Country Finals on Saturday. Despite the appalling conditions, the Scoil Ursula athletes all acquitted themselves very well and did their school proud!!
Congratulations to our Girls’ Mini-7s Team who qualified for the next round of the competition with victories over St. John’s, St Brendan’s and the Mercy Primary. They play the next round against Corballa NS and Highpark NS in St. Patrick's, Dromard next Monday at 10:30am. Hard luck to the boys who narrowly failed to progress losing out in the final to St. John’s by a mere two points. There was some consolation, however, when Sean Casey qualified for the next phase of the skills competition. Good luck to all in the next round!!
