During the month of January we learned all about shapes, both 2D and 3D. We played shape i-spy and tried a shape hunt in the class.
We wanted to see and display 3D shapes after all our hard work learning about them. Then we could count the edges and faces as we made them. It took a lot of cutting, sticking and patience but here are the results of our fun 3D shape lesson!
Today we made a photostory based on the Irish version of the Christmas Carol "Away in a Manger". We made artwork to accompany the lyrics, read the words into the microphone to each picture, and finally sang the song. You can also see our Christmas cards based on the nativity scene in our video. We hope you enjoy it. We wish you a safe and happy Christmas.
Last week we heard the story of “The Children of Lir”. We were very interested in the story. We even reminded teacher of the story by drawing comic strips.
When the time came to do art we decided to do swan pictures because swans are so beautiful.
We looked at the work of an artist called Stuchie and used his swan picture as a guide. We really enjoyed creating our pictures on black paper using pastels.
Our trip to Hazelwood for National Tree Day, the 10th of October 2013.We brought our teddy bears along for a picnic & we all had a great day!
