The minutes of the last meeting (AGM) Thursday 04 February 2010 were read and agreed.

ITEM
Mr. Tony Gallagher, Principal
Mr Tony Gallagher attended the last meeting. He welcomed everyone and said he would involve the Parents’ Association as much as possible in the school. He mentioned a few of his own ideas and they were as follows:
- starting a new school library and getting all new books. He mentioned that each family could donate a new book to it. To run a book club. For Setanta to do a book fair in the school.
- to introduce board games to each class for rainy days when children are not able to get outside.
- he is also looking to get goal posts for the pitch. Goal Post Ireland has quoted €2,367 per set and the netting an extra €4,880. He was to talk with the local St. Mary’s GAA club for some sponsorship as we are the feeder school for the club. It was suggested that he talk with Joe Cambell also.


Easter event
It was decided that there was too much happening in the school on Friday 26 to go ahead with all that was talked about. So a decision was made just to do an egg hunt for the whole school during the day. We would take a few classes at a time to complete it. There will be a golden egg hiden each time and the lucky finder will receive a large egg.

Communion & Confirmation photos
Louise is to ring Brenda McCallion for prices to see if she is interested in taking the photos for the two days. Berni is to check if there is anyone else through the school to get prices of them. It was also suggested to check with Phelim in Photo fast to see if he is interested in doing them. Denis Rooney is to complete the DVD’s on the day. Notes to be sent out to the classes required.

Workshop
The Factory is completing a show and has agreed to hold a workshop with some of the classes in drama. It was decided to start with the 6 classes. It was hoped that it would be held some Friday in May.

Writers Week
It was suggested that we book Anne West to do a talk during writers’ week next year. She was unavailable for this year as she was already booked up. The people involved in the art work completed at the bridge on the Strandhill Road were asked if they would like to come in but they were not interested in doing so. The day went well where the children dressed up in their favourite book characters and book tokens and vouchers were given out.

Sugradh Le Cheile
There has been very little feed back from the parents to Miss Greavy about the upcoming event. It was suggested that reminders be sent out again and see if some families want to involve a grandparent or friend if the parent is unavailable to take part on the day.

School Disco
It was agreed that the disco would be held on a Friday evening and for classes 4 and up. Sue was to check with her brother what nights he is available as he is a DJ. It will only be open to children attending the school. Berni is to ok the idea with Mr. Gallagher first.

School Uniforms
Berni was to check with Moffits and Mullaneys to see if they are still doing the school uniforms.
