The Badger with second class

Badgers are largely nocturnal, normally shy, retiring animals that live in social or family groups.

A badger's home is called a sett. The sett is an underground home, often with a labyrinth of tunnels involving the excavation of tons of earth.

Badger prints are broader than they are long with five toes and five long, non-retractable powerful claws that they use for digging.

The sense of smell is the most important of the badgers senses. Badgers forage for food with their snouts constantly sniffing the ground ahead of them.

Badgers are omnivorous and will eat a wide variety of foods, although their main diet consists of earthworms, up to 200 per day.

Badgers are less active during winter months but they do not hibernate.

Play the games below.

Hibernation with Second Class

14/9/2014

Picture
As the weather gets colder, leaves start falling from the trees and some animals start
getting ready to hibernate.
Hibernation is when an animal goes to …..SLEEP!Animals hibernate because in winter time there is not much food to eat and it is very, very cold.
The animals make nice, warm places to sleep and have some food stored away for when they wake up.
When the animals wake up it will be spring time.  The weather will be warmer and there will be plenty of food to eat.

CONSTELLATIONS
A constellation is a group of stars or a star family.
They can be seen in the night sky.
Some were named after animals and some were named mythological characters.
Constellations are seen after sunset and before sunrise.
           Also as the earth turns.
