Dear Parents/ Guardians,
As you know the internet has become an increasingly important part of our everyday lives. There are many positive effects of this fantastic resource and we in Scoil Ursula try to enable your child (ren) to avail of this in projects and tasks which may be completed with the aid of the internet. It also helps us to stay in touch with family and friends near and far.
We the staff of Scoil Ursula would like to remind you the parents/ guardians of our pupils to be vigilant of the dangers of the internet. It has come to our attention that a large number of pupils in our school regularly use the internet unsupervised at home. It is necessary to advise you of the dangers inherent in accessing sites on the internet which, may be aimed at children, but which, can also be used by anybody of any age. Social networking sites, such as Bebo, are very popular among young people but it is important to note, that the pupils may be exposing themselves to dangers and risks they are not even aware of.
It is therefore recommended that you:
