Autumn

19/9/2017

There are four seasons in a year. They are spring, summer, autumn, and winter. The three months in Autumn are August, September, and October. The sky gets darker in the evenings. Leaves fall off deciduous trees. They turn red, brown, orange, and yellow. Some birds migrate. Blackberries grow in bushes. The farmer harvests. Seeds fall from the trees. Some animals collect food for hibernation.

Nature Walk

14/9/2017

Today is Thursday the 14th of September. We went on a nature walk in the school grounds. We went in the morning because it was sunny, just in case it rains again!
First we lined up with our coats on. Our groups were called Woodlice, Badgers, Hedgehogs and Squirrels.
In the beginning we went to the garden. We looked at the leaves and plants to find insects. Just then teacher lifted rocks and pots for us to look under. That is where the minibeasts were hiding.
We saw eggs, worms, snails, slugs, ants, centipedes, fruit flies and woodlice.
Suddenly we looked up to the sky and saw birds. Meanwhile Antoni spotted a squirrel’s tail in the distance.
A few minutes later we went to the opposite side of the school and saw daddy long legs, cobwebs, wasps, and spiders along the ivy on the wall.
In the end we came in and wiped our feet.
We were so happy about our nature walk that we wrote all about it.

Individual poems

Here are the children's poems as promised.

Celebrating christmas in a pool
Holy churchs are cool.
Rudolph is a reindeer.
Ice is really clear.
Santa Claus has a soul.
Turkey has a big hole.
Marvellous presents come and go.
Amazing trees are low.
Silent night is awsome.

Cakes and carols was so much fun,
Holidays are now not in the sun.
Rudolph flies through the night,
I go sledding hang on tight.
St Nicholas gives us a surprise,
Trees are covered in tinsel but ties.
Merry Christmas everyone,
Away in a manger is always sung
Santa Claus will defintly come

CELABRATE JESUS CHRIST
HE IS BORN TTTTONIGHT
RUDOLPH  IS  A RAINDEER
I ICE  SKATE  AT  THIS  TIME  OF  YEAR
SO WHERE IS  YOUR  CHRISTMAS  CHEER?
TIP TAP GOES THE RAIN
MY  LION  ISNT  TAME
AS  ADVENT  COMES  NEARS
MELL THE EXITMENT IN  THE AIR

Children wait for Santa to come.
He likes turkey, give him some.
Rapping is my kind of thing.
I like ice skating.
Santa loves adults but children more.
“Take me to Ireland”, Santa says as the reindeers lead him along the shore.
“MERRY CHRISTMAS” Santa shouts.
All the presents behind the couch.
Sing and dance for Christmas Day.

Christmas  is cool like a pool,
Carols are   sung  to   the  children  with     care.
Holidays are sweet  like a treat.
Rodolph  is  cool and so are you,
Icicling  a  different  way  every   day.
Stoking  are  haning  by  the  children  of  care.
Teleporting to  the  North  Pole  every  day.
Mistleotoe is  hong  on  the tree.
Merry Christmas  everyone .
Away  in a  manger  is  always  sung .
Santa  is  coming     tonight.

Christmas is a time of year.
Hear the Christmas cheer.
Rachel has Christmas cheer.
If you don’t give lots of presents.
Santa Claus said I am staying here.
Turkey is better than beer.
May is the month of Mary herself.
Amazing lights are up in my house.
Santa has a big belly.

Crackers   are   pulled   out
"Ho  ho  ho " Santa   shouts.
Rudolph   flies   through  the  sky
Icicles   hang  while  I  am eating pie
Santa  claus    is  here  today
Tinsel  hangs  above  his  slay
May  is  not  the  time  to  sing
Away  in a manger  is  my  favourite  thing
Soon  it  will  be  snowing

Cracking Christmas crakers  at dinner.
Happiness awaits.
Ryan is my friends name.
I like mince pie.
Santa goes through the chimney.
The turkey makes me fly.
Mass is a holy thing at Christmas.
Amazing things we see with our eyes.
Stockings have got stuffed with sweets.

Carols are sung in the mall.
People are shopping in the mall getting ready for Christmas fall.
The elves are small but not tall.
Santa clause never falls.
Santa clause is big and tall.
Rudolph is the smallest out of all.

Carols are sung in this year
He is cool we are cool ,we love to swim in the pool.
Ringing bells are so so fun.
Is it Christmas? Yes it is.
Santa is drinking bear.
Time to run down stairs , then we run up stairs.
Mistletoe is red.
At the time it is time.
Santa is in the sky.

We have been thinking a lot about rhyming words rescenty.....and more than that Christmas has been on our minds. We decided to combine these two exciting ideas and make a Christmas poem. We made this one together and also created poems individually which we will post at a later date. We hope you enjoy out poem.
Carols are sung in the street,
Holidays are a big treat.
Rudolph flies through the sky,
Ice skating followed by eating pie.
Santa Claus brings a surprise,
Trees in tinsil, men in ties.
Merry Christmas everyone,
Away in a manger is always sung,
Santa fills the stockings that we have hung.

Science Week

This week is Science Week. A special scientist came in to show us some amazing experiments. The scientist was a parent from our class. Not only did he do experiments, he also did eggs-periments"! It was very "egg-citing". We learned about many scientific things. We saw sound waves, energy working, chemicals reacting to make rockets and many more exciting things. We talked about vacuums, pressure, and carbon dioxide. We had a fantastic and educational day.
