Many pupils participated in the Feis, the community games and the Féile over Easter. We are so lucky to have such a talented class. Well done everyone!

How many capitals and countries can you get?

We are currently learning the countries and capitals of Europe. 
 
 
Last week we had an ongoing debate about the troubles in Northern Ireland. We explored what it is to be a Unionist and a Nationalist. We looked at two very influential Leaders, John Hume and David Trimble and their role in achieving peace in Northern Ireland. We investigated the role of the British and Irish government also.

Key Facts about Northern Ireland
1920-21 The state of Northern Ireland was set up.
1967 The Civil Rights Association was formed to try and get equal treatment for everyone in Northern Ireland.
1969- The British Army was sent to Northern Ireland to try and restore peace.
1998 ON 10 April 1998 the Belfast Agreement or the Good Friday Agreement was signed.
1998 ON 23 May 1998, people in the Republic of Ireland and in Northern Ireland voted in favour of the Belfast Agreement
